On June 12th, the Virginia Republican primary will offer 6th District voters a real small government, constitutional and liberty choice. Voters will also choose among four GOP Senate nominees — former Senator George Allen, former Tea Party leader Jamie Radtke, Bishop E.W. Jackson and Delegate Bob Marshall. Several of these Senate hopefuls have already debated each other, and the Republican Party of Virginia is hosting three more debates, beginning on April 28th in Roanoke. But Bob Goodlatte still refuses to say whether or not he will debate me, despite repeated requests over the past 8 months from our campaign, members of the media, academia, and political organizations. We have a panel forum set at JMU on April 25th, featuring a number of past and present challengers for the 6th District seat. I will also debate Democratic contendor for the House seat, Andy Schmookler, on May 1st. Mr. Goodlatte was invited to all of these events as well — instead he has gone underground.
Bob is not completely passive, though. He has launched attacks on me, and our statement on what I believe can only be defined as Bob’s cowardice has been published in the Roanoke Free Press and in the Augusta Free Press.
